Participants come from all over the United Kingdom - see map above
1. Book in - it's FREE to sign up!
Get in touch via the booking form and let us know you'd like to join in on Fridays.
2. Look out for an email
On Thursday evening, you'll receive a reminder email with the Zoom link. Sometimes the emails may go into your spam folder, so take a look there. Don't try clicking on the link until a few minutes before the Friday morning session as nothing will happen.
Not used Zoom before?
Don't worry - many participants were new to the Zoom system when they started online sessions and were nervous about getting used to the technology. We'll help you all the way. Click here for instructions on using Zoom (courtesy of Age UK Lambeth).
3. Get ready
We like to do a bit of mild exercise during the sessions so have a scarf or tie and a couple of food tins at the ready. Some water to drink is good too. As you will be seen on the screen, you might like to dress up a bit. The brighter the better!
4. Join the meeting
Just before the session, we'll open the Waiting Room. Click on the Zoom link you have received by email - it's usually blue. Click 'Join with computer audio' and press 'Start video' so that we can see you. If you prefer to keep your face hidden, that's fine too. Usually everyone is muted at the beginning but you can press 'Unmute' to join the pre-session chat.
5. Have 60 minutes of joy!
Once the session starts, everyone will go on mute. You will be able to hear the host and the music tracks so that you can sing out loud at home. The lyrics will appear on screen in big print. You won't hear the other participants because there is a delay between different internet speeds, but you'll be able to see everyone and be seen, so smile and give it your all!
'Enjoyable and exhilarating'
'This event is one of my favourites'
'The group is getting bigger by the day, so it's a good sign that people are loving the session'
6. Keeping safe
Not everyone is steady on their feet. You will know what movements are safe for your health. Take care of yourself and adapt the singing and movement to your needs. If you live on your own, you might let a family member or neighbour know that you are doing the sessions so that they can check on you at the end.
7. Donate
Sessions are offered free but cost us quite a bit to put on. A regular donation would really help us to continue to offer 60 Minute Sing sessions to you and others. Support us here
Make new friends
Each session, we unmute and get chatting:
'Have you ever done a 9 to 5 job?'
'What were you doing the year this song came out?'
'Tell us about a boat journey you've been on.'
Have fun
At the end of each season, sit down with a snack and a cuppa. Team up with other participants to battle it out for the title of Quiz Champions! Questions about songs and artists from the season.
